So. Been a while. I kind of fell off the radar the last few days, but for good reason.
Because it’s also been a while since I could say something else: that I’m an English teacher.
But I officially am!
Well, officially classes haven’t begun yet (I’m starting in the August semester), but I’ve been hired by the online ESL company I was hoping to work for and am halfway through my first week of regular hours. Lots of lesson plans and training underway. I’ve even got a video to introduce myself to future students!
(I’m working with mostly younger kids so I cheesed it up a little and tried to keep it fun so learning English isn’t so scary).
However disillusioned I became with teaching in Korea, I’m really happy about slipping this old pair of work gloves back on. They fit, well, like a glove.
Not to mention this is the perfect solution to the balance in lifestyle I’ve been wanting to achieve. It’s only 18 hours a week and I’m done by 10am! Plenty of time left for jogging, biking, arting, and even some binge Friends watching.
Which is good because now that I’m finding a rhythm to the schedule, I have a lot of catch up blogging to do (Comic Con, a Chambly car show, Jack in the Green from Hastings that I still haven’t done…).
So look forward to some fun stuff in the upcoming days!
